皆さん、こんにちは！！LFC代表のカワミツ です。この頃は天気の良い日は夏日のような暑さが出てきていますがいかがお過ごしですか？

今回は、テニスのシンガポールオープンとアジアU１４選手権でシングルとダブルスで３冠に輝いたアンジェリーナさんの紹介です。

実はアンジェリーナさんのお父さんは４、５年ほど前から当店に通ってくれている患者さんですが、お父さんの方からしばしば娘さんの話を聞いていました。「うちの娘がこないだテニスのアジアの国際大会で優勝したんだよ！」と誇らしげに話してくれた時、その功績を讃えると共に「テニスとカイロプラクティックの関係性」について話をさせてもらいました。

皆さんの多くは「ウィンブルドンや、USオープン」で活躍してきたヴィーナス・セリーナ姉妹をご存知かと思います。彼女達はこれまでカイロプラクティックを用いて怪我からの回復と防止、更には試合でのパフォーマンスアップをして来ました。テニスに限らず多くのプロアスリートがカイロプラクティックを受けていますが、その多くが現役生活を長く続けながら引退を伸ばす事にも成功しています。

今回、初めてアンジェリーナさんの身体をみさせてもらい国際大会まで優勝するぐらいの実力だから、恐らく身体の歪みや硬さが一般の選手より多い事を想像しましたが、意外にも一般の選手と同じぐらいの歪みでした。左膝と右の骨盤の歪みが主な歪みでした。お父さん曰く、「うちの娘はあまり施術を受けたがらない！」という事でしたが施術に対する不安や恐怖感はさほど無く気持ち良く受けてくれました。

施術が終わった後には、腰や膝の違和感が取れスッキリした様子でした。これからアメリカの大学を目指して将来はプロ選手になって活躍したいという目標があるとの事だったので、カイロプラクティックの重要性を話しました。

Hello everyone! This is Dr. Nobu Kawamitsu, the LFC representative. How are you doing these days?

This time, I would like to introduce Angelina, who won the triple crown at the Singapore Open and Asian U14 Tennis Championships in Single and Doubles.

Angelina’s father has been a patient of ours for about 4 or 5 years, and he has often told us about his daughter. The other day my daughter won an international tennis tournament in Asia! I was proud to hear him say, “My daughter just won an international tennis tournament in Asia!” I congratulated him on her achievement and told him about the relationship between tennis and chiropractic.

Many of you may be familiar with the Venus and Serena sisters who have played at Wimbledon and the US Open. They have used chiropractic care to recover from injuries, prevent injuries, and improve their performance in competitions. Many professional athletes, not only tennis players, have received chiropractic care, and many of them have been successful in extending their active careers and their retirements.

I had a chance to see Angelina’s body for the first time, and since she is so good that she even won an international competition, I imagined that she probably had more distortion and stiffness in her body than most athletes, but surprisingly, her distortion was about the same as most athletes. The main distortions were in her left knee and right pelvis. The father said, “My daughter doesn’t want to be treated very often! But she was very comfortable with the treatment without much anxiety or fear.

After the treatment, her back and knees felt better and she looked refreshed. I told her about the importance of chiropractic care, as she has a goal to go to college in the U.S. and to become a professional athlete in the future.

LFC will continue to do its best to support Angelina in maintaining her body so that she can continue to play an active role in the future!
