It has been 12 days since the New Year, how are you doing in the cold weather?
Today, I would like to share with you what I enjoyed during my New Year's vacation as a daily routine of our staff. On this day, my wife and I went to Okinawa Shikinaen for the first time in our lives.
I had heard of the name several times, but this was the first time I learned that Shikinaen was a kind of modern-day guesthouse where guests from abroad stayed during the Ryukyu Dynasty.
A walk around the area revealed that it is surrounded by a pond with spring water, and the pavilion in the photo seems to have been a place to enjoy tea. To the south, we could enjoy the view from the hill from which we could not see the ocean, which is rare in Okinawa despite its elevated location.
Coming here, I felt as if I was once transported back in time to the days of the Ryukyu Dynasty. Why don't you come and visit?
