Today I will tell you about my encounter with a wonderful doctor.

It was last November when I first heard about Dr. Mase, an obstetrician and gynecologist, on "The World Oyoten News" hosted by former Sumup member Nakai, who featured the smallest baby ever recorded in Japan at 261 grams.

As many of you may have seen on TV at that time, the baby was born two years ago today, and Dr. Mase told us what happened then.

Even if the baby is born, the survival rate is 50%, and even if the baby survives, it will have residual aftereffects, etc. Amidst all these dangers, the parents' firm determination encouraged Dr. Mase to take up the premature baby. All of the speeches were very moving.

I felt that I had learned the preciousness of life once again. I am grateful to have had this opportunity, and I will start another step forward tomorrow.
