LFC Director's Thoughts after High School Basketball Interhighs

Hello everyone, I am Kawamitsu, Director of LFC.

Today I would like to share what I noticed about myself at the high school basketball inter-high school.

Last week I went to Oroku High School to prepare for the boys' basketball players to win the high school tournament that started on June 1, while adjusting them with chiropractic care. I had lost to Kounan High School many times in the past, so I was determined to beat Kounan myself in this tournament.

When I touched the players' bodies, I found that they were much stiffer than they had been since the Kyushu Tournament held in March. We adjusted their stiffened bodies to get them ready for the games. After the games were over, the players' bodies were stiff again, so we adjusted them again to promote recovery from fatigue and to improve their performance before the next day's games.

The game started out well, but the score did not expand very much. However, in the 4th quarter, the score was up by more than 10 points until about 3 minutes remained in the 4th quarter, when Konan caught up with them and the gap gradually narrowed. With about 5 seconds left in the game, the gap was only 1 point, but a player from Konan made a last shot and the game was unexpectedly reversed.

When I was in the workforce, I experienced games won and lost by a single point, and I think it is difficult to understand the frustration unless you have actually experienced it.

So, I thought to myself, one of the regular members had a leg cramp during this game. In the previous tournament, some of the regular members had leg cramps and we had lost an upset, so I wanted to make sure that the players were taking minerals and calcium, which is necessary for muscle movement, in this tournament.

We had each player take 900 mg of calcium during the tournament, and none of them had a limp until the Kounan game. The reason why only one player had a cramp, however, is that he was the only player who did not take calcium that day.

I had always asked the athlete to take calcium before treating him, and I thought he had taken it as well, but he told me that he had not taken it on the third day.

Through this incident, I was reminded that "the best preparation is necessary to win the battle. That is what I learned from the Oroku High School players, and I learned something valuable from them.
